Jo Richards of Faye Benjamin Jewellery
Hello

Hi! My name is Jo and I’m the artist behind Faye Benjamin Jewellery.

I started my business when my children were quite young. They were part of the inspiration to take a new path in my life and their names are Ben and Faye - hence the name of my business! I've been designing and making all my life adult life and since starting my business in 2015 I’ve enjoyed creating over 2000 individual pieces of silver jewellery.

I absolutely love what I do and sharing my passion for silver clay with you makes me truly happy, whether it’s in the form of a sale of one of my unique pendants on my Etsy page, meeting you at a market or fair or teaching you in a workshop

 Inspiration

I create jewellery from the beauty I see around me.

In my designs you will find echoes of the things that bring me joy; from the stunning Hampshire countryside, to the shapes and rhythms of the sea.

I understand that when you buy jewellery you want it to be something that reflects you; something that makes you feel special whenever you wear it and brings you joy, too. Over the past 25 years I have evolved a feminine, romantic and organic style which has in a way become my signature style and one that I am known for.

My Ethos

It is important to me that my jewellery is more than something unique and beautiful to wear.

I strive for each piece to be impeccably made; an enduring piece of wearable art that can be treasured and enjoyed for years to come. I call it wearable art, because each piece really is a tiny work of art. I love getting lost in the detail of every swirl, petal and shell I create and that’s what makes my pieces so unique.

I was immensely proud when I was accepted as a member of the Association for Contemporary Jewellery (Wessex) - the only one to work solely with silver clay.

 Workshops

I love inspiring the creator in you.

I’ve always wanted to share the joy of making; the sense of relaxation – almost mindfulness – that creating something with your own hands can bring.

When you come to one of my workshops, I want to make sure you have a fantastic experience and a truly memorable day filled with tea, biscuits, fun - and of course, silver clay!

Treading Lightly

I am mindful of my place in the world.

That’s one of the reasons I work almost solely with silver clay. Silver clay is a product made from recycled silver which, once fired, can be hallmarked as 999 fine silver.  Where possible, I source my materials in the UK, use eco packaging and minimise my plastic usage, too.

Head to my Facebook or Instagram to learn more about me and get regular updates when I add new jewellery to my Etsy shop.

Don’t fancy the social scene? Sign up to my newsletter and get notified of shop updates, news about which markets and fairs I will be attending this year, and dates for upcoming workshops.
