After graduating with a degree in Design and Technology, I worked for many years in engineering, gaining qualifications in jewellery design and silversmithing whilst I worked (I think it's what kept me sane!). I have now been designing and making jewellery for over 25 years and since 2006 I’ve specialised in working almost exclusively in Silver Clay. This medium has helped me develop my feminine, romantic and organic style that I am now recognised for.
Like most of us these days, I am mindful of my place in the world and the impact I make on the environment. I am proud to use Silver Clay - a product made from recycled silver which, once fired, can be Hallmarked as 999 Fine Silver. Where possible I source my materials in the UK; use eco packaging; and minimise my plastic usage.
It is important to me that my jewellery is not only unique and beautiful, but impeccably made; an enduring piece of wearable art that can be treasured and enjoyed for years to come.
I grew up within walking distance of the sea on the Dorset Coast. I now call the city of Winchester home and enjoy the beautiful countryside, rolling hills and chalk streams that surround me. The sea, water, and natural world often feature in my work. You will also find designs inspired by travels with my family, visits to art galleries and organic architecture.
Teaching what I love was a natural progression for me. I’ve always wanted to share the joy of making; the sense of relaxation – almost mindfulness – that creating something with your own hands can bring. I combine my years of experience and Silver Clay qualifications with a relaxed environment – ensuring everyone has a fantastic experience and a truly memorable day.
